4TH MONTH OF GASTRONOMY IN SPLIT – FOOD AND WINE STORIES

The Split Tourist Board once again presents Štorije o’ spize/Food & Wine stories– the fourth edition of the Month of Gastronomy in Split, which will take place from October 25 to November 15, 2025.

Through a unique blend of tradition, local flavors, and educational content, the event celebrates Dalmatia’s rich wine and culinary heritage.

This year’s edition begins with the romantic event Valcer pod jedrima (Waltz Under the Sails), followed by a series of activities that highlight the importance of gastronomy as a cornerstone of identity and sustainable tourism.

PROGRAM:

October 25, starting at 4:00 p.m. – Waltz Under the Sails

Visitors can look forward to Dalmatian delicacies at more than twenty stalls, a rich program featuring humanitarian and traditional associations, and great music by Cosmic Production and DJ Black Shark. A special visual highlight will be the parade of Vespa Club Split members.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., the sea in front of the West Coast will transform into a Mediterranean amphitheatre – traditional boats, regatta cruisers, and Olympic classes will set sail from the Labud Sailing Club, each illuminated by light effects on their sails. The flotilla of wooden boats from the Lantina Vrboska Association will stand out in particular, joined—weather permitting—by the legendary falkuša. Over twenty minutes, the “Waltz Under the Sails” will unite art, heritage, and contemporary expression, accompanied by the music of Shostakovich, Orff, Morricone, and John Williams.
