FantaSTikon 2026: The Largest Fantasy and Pop Culture Festival in Split!

Fans of fantasy, science fiction, gaming and pop culture – get ready for the most exciting weekend of the year! The 12th FantaSTikon 2026 will traditionally take place in Split from March 13–15 at FESB, bringing a rich program filled with lectures, workshops, tournaments and interactive events that will satisfy all your geeky interests. If you love fantasy in any form – from books, movies and video games to board games, cosplay and D&D adventures – FantaSTikon is an event you simply cannot miss.

There will be something for everyone, whether you are just discovering the world of fantasy or you are a long-time enthusiast.

What to expect

Lectures and panels: Every year FantaSTikon hosts engaging speakers who explore fascinating topics from the worlds of science, fantasy and science fiction.

Some of this year’s topics include:

• Artificial Intelligence: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow – a talk about the rapidly developing field of AI and its impact on our world.
• Nobel Prizes in Medicine and Physics – and What Do They Have to Do with Split? – a discussion about famous Nobel Prize winners, with a special focus on those who visited Split.
• Aging: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow – what causes aging and what the future might bring.
• If You Don’t Know What ZFBILO – a look at the history of Croatian science fiction, from fandom and publishing to the development of SF culture.
• Coffee with Editors – a panel discussion for writers and aspiring writers with the opportunity to ask editors your questions.

Cosplay show and competition

Prepare your best costumes, because FantaSTikon once again becomes Split’s cosplay epicenter. Everyone is welcome to walk the runway, and the most creative costumes will receive awards.

Gaming tournaments

Competitions in iconic games such as Halo will give gaming fans a chance to showcase their strategies and skills. There will also be a variety of tournaments in both video games and board games.

Non-stop board game room

Throughout the entire festival, visitors can enjoy a large collection of board games provided by the F&ST Association. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player – fun is guaranteed.

FantaSTikon treasure hunt

Who will discover the hidden treasure? Solve riddles, follow clues and compete for fantastic prizes in this exciting treasure hunt that runs throughout the festival.

Knowledge quizzes

• Geek Trivia Quiz – Retro is Back! – gather your team and test your knowledge of movies, books, video games and TV series in this retro-themed 50-question quiz.
• General Knowledge Quiz – open to everyone and covering a wide range of topics.
• 39 Steps to Boardgame Hell – a solo quiz adventure for board game enthusiasts.

Workshops for all ages

Regardless of age, visitors can take part in creative and educational workshops that explore the worlds of fantasy and science fiction.

Auction and exhibitor stands

Collectors will enjoy the festival auction featuring unique items, while exhibitor stands will offer books, souvenirs and various geek collectibles.
