EXHIBITION BY TONI ŽIVKOVIĆ: “RETURNED GAZE / STONE MIRROR”
Location: Studio 21 (Velebitska 66)
Date: September 23 – October 11, 2025
From the foreword: “The central leitmotif of Živković’s work is the ability to create a fragmentation of atmosphere – not atmosphere in a meteorological or picturesque sense, but a deeper, almost phenomenological one. The colors in his works do not suggest the sunny Mediterranean brightness but a muted inner reality: prevailing are olive tones, earthy shades, and gray surfaces that evoke silence, melancholy, absence, and transience. In his Šibenik there is no glitter of the tourist summer identity, but only the introspective emptiness of urban spaces off-season – a time when the city truly belongs to itself. The city is not only a city of stone – but a city of silence, a city of shadows, a city of self-reflection.(…)”
