Location: Small Gallery of the City Museum of Split (Dioklecijanova 2)

The exhibition presents students from the second, third, and fourth grades of the School of Fine Arts in Split, specializing in fashion design, who found inspiration in the holdings of the Textile and Fashion Accessories Collection of the City Museum of Split.

The starting point of the exhibition was the connection between the present and the past through the theme of fashion details and lace. Lace collars, gloves, cuffs, and other fashion accessories—once an important part of clothing culture and bourgeois life in Split—served as inspiration for the students’ contemporary interpretation and creative work. The exhibition will present the entire process of creating a garment, from sketches and drawings to handmade works and finished fashion pieces.

Alongside the works of students from Split, the exhibition also features three works by students of the School of Applied Arts and Design from Zadar.

The collaboration between the City Museum of Split and the School of Fine Arts is particularly valuable as it connects two important institutions: one that preserves and interprets the heritage of Split, and the other that has for generations been shaping young creatives who can read, question, and continue that heritage in a contemporary context.
