9th International Choral Festival SING (in) SPLIT

The International Choral Festival SING(in)SPLIT brings a rich programme dedicated to vocal music, choral singing, and the preservation of Croatian vocal heritage to Split. Since 2018, the festival has brought together choirs, klapa groups, vocal ensembles, and music professionals from Croatia and abroad, creating opportunities for artistic exchange, education, and outstanding musical experiences.

 

The ninth edition of the festival will feature concerts, choir gatherings, and educational programmes at attractive venues in the historic centre of Split. The programme will bring together numerous Croatian and international performers, offering audiences a diverse range of vocal performances – from traditional music and a cappella repertoire to contemporary choral works.

 

The festival has been awarded the EFFE Label by the European Festivals Association (EFA), confirming its artistic quality and contribution to the cultural offering of the city of Split.

 

The festival is organised by the Schola cantorum Split Association, with the cooperation and support of numerous cultural and educational institutions.

 

Programme:

  • 28 September 2026 – 6th(Croatian Home Spli)- Split Klapa Festival “Spli'ski klaparel”

The festival opens with an evening dedicated to klapa singing – a unique musical expression and a distinctive symbol of the Dalmatian region. The programme is organised in cooperation with the Split-based klapa group Ventula
 

  • 20 October 2026 – Educational Workshop with Katarina Livljanić (Arts Academy in Split.

This international workshop, intended for singers and choir conductors, will provide insight into various techniques and approaches to working with choirs. Workshop choir: Camerata Vocale Split.
 

  • 25 October 2026 – (Cathedral of Saint Domnius) - Guest Choir Evening: Collegium Utrecht

The Dutch choir Collegium Utrecht will present a diverse repertoire of choral literature through a cappella performances. In keeping with the festival tradition, the guest choir will also perform a piece by a Croatian composer, promoting Croatian musical heritage.
 

  • 29 October 2026 – (Croatian Home Split) - Choir Gathering: Spli'ski zboraton

The festival finale brings together Split choirs of different generations – from children’s and school choirs to academic and adult ensembles. Performers include: the Mixed Choir of Marko Marulić Grammar School, the Mixed Choir of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, the Children’s Choir of Mejaši Primary School, Camerata Vocale Split, and the Mixed Choir of the Arts Academy in Split.
