 The Christmas–New Year Race is a traditional event that has been held continuously on Marjan since 2003. It always takes place on St. Stephen’s Day, 26 December.

On Friday, 26 December 2025, with a start at 11:00 a.m., the 22nd Christmas–New Year Race will be held, organized by the Marjan Marathon Club. Races of 3.2 km and 10 km will take place. Both races have a mass start, with the start and finish located at the North Marjan Gate. The turning points are at Bene (3.2 km) and just before the Institute, twice (10 km).

For the 3.2 km race, medals are awarded in the 8–12 years age category (boys and girls), while trophies are awarded in the overall classification for women and men.
