Dalibor Prančević on the exhibition: "In her new series of paintings, Lana Cvetko explores nature as a space for attentive observation rather than simply a landscape to be glanced at. Through motifs of shrubs, trees, tree stumps, paths, and lakes, the artist draws attention to often overlooked elements of the landscape, revealing their strength, vulnerability, and endurance.

Although no human figures appear in the paintings, traces of human presence remain visible—in paths cutting through vegetation, tree stumps that bear witness to logging, and landscapes shaped by human intervention. Nature thus ceases to function merely as a backdrop to human activity and instead emerges as an equal presence, with its own rhythms of growth, decay, and renewal.

Characteristic thick layers of paint and a rich palette of greens, browns, and earthy tones give the works a striking material presence. Rather than offering a faithful depiction of the landscape, the artist creates an atmosphere that invites viewers to slow down, pause, and reconsider their relationship with the natural world.

Rather than presenting an idealized vision of nature, the exhibition offers an experience of looking in which nature retains its mystery and autonomy, reminding us of both its resilience and our responsibility toward the world that surrounds us."

About the Artist: Lana Cvetko was born in Varaždin, Croatia, in 2004. In 2022, she graduated from the First Gymnasium of Varaždin, completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). In the same year, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where she is currently completing the fourth year of her undergraduate studies in Painting in the class of David Maljković.

She has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, including: Gallery SKC, VGA Program (2025); Đurđevac Town Museum, Sources of Youth (2025); Technical Museum Zagreb, International Colour Day (2025); Vladimir Filakovac Gallery, J.F. Quartet (2025); P4 Youth and Independent Culture Centre, solo exhibition Mould (2025); Lauba, Erste Fragments 21 (2025); Ethnographic Museum Zagreb, in collaboration with WHW, At the End of the Small Hours (2025); and KLET Studio Gallery, MaDa uKleti (2026).
