CRO RACE 2026

CRO RACE 2026

Location: Riva coast (Oblala Hrvatskog narodnog preporoda)

Date: September 22 – 27, 2026

The eleventh edition of CRO Race, taking place from September 22 to 27, 2026, will once again feature six stages. The starts and finishes of each stage will be located in well-known destinations — picturesque cities and regions eagerly awaiting both domestic and international competitors and visitors. With a route spanning almost 1,000 kilometres and connecting Croatia’s inland regions with the coast, the race will once again showcase the very best of Croatia to the world, highlighting the country’s diversity and the richness of its natural and cultural heritage. CRO Race is not only a sporting event, but also plays an important role in promoting Croatia as an attractive cycling tourism destination, drawing professional cyclists, enthusiasts, recreational riders and travellers exploring the country on two wheels.

World-famous cycling stars such as Mark Cavendish, Vincenzo Nibali and Jonas Vingegaard have demonstrated their strength, determination and experience in previous editions. This year will be no different, with the participation of some of the world’s best cyclists promising a dynamic race and an exciting battle for victory. The combination of top-class athletes and diverse routes makes the race appealing not only to competitors, but also to spectators, who will have the opportunity to see the cyclists up close and experience the vibrant atmosphere of CRO Race. As part of the seventh edition of Kids CRO Race, the youngest visitors will also be able to test their cycling skills in a virtual race using cycling simulators.

This year, CRO Race has taken a major step forward by earning UCI ProSeries status, meaning that an even more attractive race awaits us, featuring significantly stronger teams. This places CRO Race alongside some of the most prestigious cycling races in Europe — a great recognition for the event and an additional motivation for the organizers.

CRO Race is currently just one category below the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia in the UCI road cycling classification.

Among the teams competing in this year’s CRO Race are UAE Team Emirates XRG, Red Bull – BORA – Hansgrohe, Lidl-Trek and Bahrain Victorious, all among the leading teams in world cycling. The race will feature 7 UCI WorldTeams, 10 UCI ProTeams and just 2 UCI Continental Teams, for a total of 19 teams.

Across its six stages, the cyclists will cover a total of 940 kilometres and 12,160 metres of elevation gain. All informations of all six stages are available at:  https://crorace.com/etape/

CRO Race is broadcast in 190 countries worldwide, with a technical reach of an incredible 1.574 billion households — figures that demonstrate the global reach of this major sporting spectacle.

As the cyclists pass through the cities and towns along the route, their passage will last only a few minutes. It is therefore important to note that roads will generally be closed only 10–15 minutes before the cyclists arrive, with traffic resuming shortly afterwards.

CRO Race starts in Split!

The race gets underway in Split, with the signing-on ceremony beginning at 10:35 AM, followed by the official start at 11:25 AM, when the world’s top cyclists will set off on the closed course.
