Young Artists Exhibit: Seven Heads Took Over the Sorrow

The fourth exhibition in the eleventh edition of the "Young Artists Exhibit" programme at Zona will feature works by Marta Sladoljev. The exhibition opens on Saturday, 6 June, at 7:00 PM, and will remain on display until 26 June. The opening programme will also include a themed workshop and an artist talk.

Marta Sladoljev presents a series of works inspired by her own trapped emotions. Seven life-sized plaster heads have taken on her sorrow and tears, transforming personal feelings into sculptural forms. In addition to exploring the exhibition and engaging in a conversation with the artist, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on workshop in which they will learn the basics of sculpture, work with clay, and create their own models.

According to exhibition curator Blaženka Miše, the workshop offers a unique opportunity to discover the creative process behind the exhibited works while gaining practical experience in sculpting.

Born in Šibenik in 2000, Marta Sladoljev completed her secondary education in graphic design at the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zadar. She earned a degree in sculpture from the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka and is currently pursuing a graduate programme in Performance Design for Theatre and Film.

The programme is implemented with the financial support of the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme.
