Impact Site is a spatial multimedia installation that brings together two of Nadija Mustapić’s earlier video works – Threat from There (2015) and Here and There (2019) – enhanced with sound, text, and atmospheric elements. By linking abandoned military zones with distant seascapes, the installation creates an immersive, fog-filled environment where familiar boundaries blur and uncertainty prevails.

Exploring themes of territory, borders, and freedom in a world marked by political and economic instability, the work invites viewers into a reflective journey. Monologues guide the audience through the space, turning the “impact site” into a space of resonance and introspection rather than just conflict.

Nadija Mustapić, a Rijeka-based artist and professor at the Academy of Applied Arts, University of Rijeka, works across video and audio installations to explore the intersection of subjective and political dimensions of space. Her work has been shown in over 40 solo and 80 group exhibitions internationally.
