This year, the Ethnographic Museum Split once again opens its doors for Museum Night!
Visitors of all ages can look forward to a diverse program featuring the guest exhibition "Realism of the Blind Alley," expert-guided tours, children’s workshops, and a film and music program.
In line with this year's Museum Night theme, "Museums – Visible and Invisible," the museum has prepared a presentation of conservation-restoration efforts on selected artifacts and a promotion of EMS's new digital catalog, making the museum’s collections more accessible to the public.
PROGRAM:
5 PM - 12.30 AM
"CONTEMPORARY ŠOKAČ AVANT-GARDE - REALISM OF THE BLIND ALLEY"
A guest exhibition by academic artist Mislav Lešić. The exhibition will include an audio-video presentation by the music group Ukleti Dukat, of which the artist is a member.
5 PM - 6.30 PM
"I LOVE THE MUSEUM TOO!"
Presentation of a new educational museum project for elementary school children, featuring prominent public figures who will share their views on museums, why they value them, and their importance. The program will include a practical workshop led by visual artist Tisja Kljaković Braić.

TOUR OF THE ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM SPLIT'S PERMANENT COLLECTION
Visitors can join guided tours of the museum's permanent collection led by expert curators. Tours will start at 18:00, 19:00, and 20:00.

PRESENTATION OF THE CONSERVATION-RESTORATION WORKSHOP
Specialists will showcase conservation and restoration techniques applied to museum artifacts, including the detailed documentation process integral to preservation. This is a unique opportunity to explore the often unseen aspects of museum work.

PROMOTION OF THE NEW DIGITAL CATALOG OF THE ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM SPLIT
A presentation of the new online catalog of museum and library collections and documentary archives, making the Ethnographic Museum Split's digital catalogs publicly accessible.
7 PM - 8.30 PM
CHILDREN’S WORKSHOPS
Hands-on weaving and dry-felting workshops for elementary school children, led by Tanja Ban.

CONCERT – PROMAYA BAND
A high school band formed in 2023, featuring Luka Vukšić (drums), Jakov Marendić (bass clarinet), Roko Perković (trombone), Tomo Domazet (tenor saxophone), Ante Barić (baritone saxophone), and Marin Goreta (trumpet). The band performs original compositions and arrangements of songs by Lucky Chops.
