Split Festival
The Split Festival (Festival zabavne glazbe Split ili Splitski festival) is a music festival dating from 1960. It is one of the most important music festivals in Croatia. Since its inception, the festival has had over 800 compositions by the country’s most famous composers.

JUDITH HILL – SPLIT BLUES FESTIVAL – June 23, 2023 – 9:00 p.m.
The Split Festival is set to open with a performance by Judith Hill, a Grammy-awarded vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles, CA. Drawing on a rich musical history that includes collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Prince, Hill is a true icon in the world of music, widely known for her "stellar powerhouse vocals”. Hill and her band will showcase a distinctive fusion of soul, blues and R&B during their debut performance in Croatia at Split's Prokurative.
Before the main act takes the stage, local blues bands Otprilike ovako and Harpoon Blues Band will set the mood with their blues renditions of popular Festival songs in their twenty-minute sets.

IDA NIELSEN & THE FUNKBOTS – SPLIT JAZZ & FUNK FESTIVAL – June 25, 2023 – 9:00 p.m.
On June 25th, the Split Festival will host a night of exceptional jazz and funk music with Danish bass guitarist Ida Nielsen and her band The Funkbots. Known for her dynamic performances as a former member of Prince's backing band, Nielsen promises to bring her signature high-energy funk style to the festival that never never fails to get audiences moving and grooving.
Joining the line-up is the renowned Croatian jazz band Black Coffee, celebrating their 30 years of work, and Elena Stella & Ante Jeličić trio who will each perform two songs from the Split Festival repertoire in their arrangement.

RETROSPECTIVE – JAZZ ORKESTAR HRT & MIRON HAUSER – June 29, 2023 – 9:00 p.m.
The festival’s second weekend will start with the Retrospective concert by the HRT Jazz Orchestra. Under the direction of Miron Hauser, the orchestra will perform fifteen compositions from the festival archive, taking the audience on a journey through the festival’s rich history. The talented voices of Ana Uršula Najev, Max Hozić, Mario Huljev, Elena Stella, Sabrina Hebiri, Ana Opačak and Helena Gudelj will offer their unique interpretations, breathing new life into old favorites.

RISING STARS – June 30, 2023 – 9:00 p.m.
Discover young and rising musicians performing on Prokurative stage for the first time. With original songs and a variety of genres and styles, this evening is the opportunity to see the creativity of emerging artists and something for everyone to enjoy. The audience and an expert jury will determine two best performers who will qualify for the final evening.

NIŠTA KONTRA SPLITA – July 1, 2023 – 9:00 p.m.
Ništa kontra Splita is dedicated to celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of Nenad Vilović’s musical creativity. Vilović has been a driving force in the Croatian music scene, with his contributions spanning across various genres, including pop, rock, and jazz. The evening program takes its name from Vilović’s iconic musical hit, which was performed by the legendary Dino Dvornik at the Split Festival in 1995. The program will feature a range of musicians who will pay tribute to Vilović's musical legacy through their renditions of his hit songs. The audience can expect a night filled with nostalgia, as they reminisce over the classic tunes that have become an integral part of Croatia's musical heritage.

FINAL COMPETITION EVENING – July 2, 2023 – 9:00 p.m.
The final evening is traditionally considered to be a highlight of the Split Festival. During this evening, a total of 24 songs that were submitted to the competition earlier this year will be performed. These songs were meticulously selected by an expert jury, ensuring that only the finest music is presented to you.
