3th CYAN FESTIVAL OF VISUAL CULTURE 2025

3th CYAN FESTIVAL OF VISUAL CULTURE 2025

Location: Hrvatski dom Split (Tončićeva 1)

Date: October 10-11, 2025

Cyan festival vizualne culture brings together various international and regional speakers from the field of visual culture (graphic design, photography, illustration, typography, architecture, wayfinding…).

This is the perfect opportunity for professionals and those who want to become ones to expand their knowledge and connect with experts from different areas of visual culture. This year, as part of Cyan festival, two exhibitions will be held on October 8 and 9. Lectures će se održati on October 10 starting at 18:00, and on October 11 from 9:00 to 16:00.

Program:

October 8–14, Galerija Kvart (Trstenik 1) — Exhibition „Yugo Logo“

The main starting point of the Yugo Logo project lies in the fact that most of the graphic symbols presented in this exhibition, created more than half a century ago, are considered exceptionally high-quality solutions and meet modern standards. Their influence on contemporary (local) design, as well as on the establishment of collective aesthetic criteria, is by no means negligible, which makes the subject of the research – though seemingly archaic – highly relevant today. Unfortunately, after the breakup of Yugoslavia, much of the industrial heritage was either lost, left to decay, or destroyed. The Yugo Logo project aims to collect and preserve as many graphic identification marks "made in Yugoslavia" as possible and to draw attention to some of the pioneers of the craft, whose contributions must certainly not be forgotten.

October 9, Hrvatski dom Split — Exhibition Goran Trbuljka: „Fragmentacija“

The exhibition Fragmentacija explores mechanisms of influence in the age of fragmented communication. It presents Trbuljka’s poster cycle from 2006, through which the artist questions who has the right to visibility, who decides what is worth remembering, and why some voices are heard while others are not. "When the 'old and depressed anonymous artist' appeals seeking a 'permanent place to exhibit in a nice new museum,' it is about much more than a single artist and his apparent insecurity," explains curator Derado Giljanović. "The message also comes across somewhat sarcastically."

October 10–11, Hrvatski dom Split — Lectures:
