Envice explores what constitutes reality and how we construct and deconstruct it in everyday life. Is my reality the same as yours, and where does reality end and illusion begin? Is this boundary fixed, or is it constantly shifting, just like us?

The project investigates these questions through a deepened relationship with the trapeze, not merely as an apparatus, but as a character, co-creator, and provocateur. Its aim is to complicate the trapeze’s function and presence through physical research that includes object manipulation, puppetry, self-objectification, and low-flying aerial techniques. The trapeze is not a passive tool, but an active participant in the performance process, capable of acting, resisting, or responding.

The work began with the deconstruction of the trapeze itself, leading into the philosophy of deconstruction, existentialism, and absurdist theatre. Inspiration is drawn from the works of Camus, Beckett, and Ionesco, as well as from absurdist cinema and contemporary circus practices.

Absurdity is approached as a confrontation with reality and an intensified awareness of one’s own position within it. Meta-theatricality and humor have become central tools in the artist’s practice, through which she explores the relationship between performer and audience.

Ultimately, the project questions self-awareness in performance, the gaze of the observer, and the boundary between reality and fantasy, while exploring a sense of isolation experienced by the individual when confronted with their own consciousness and existence within, or as part of, emptiness.
