Ahead of World Car-Free Day, Sunce Association is organizing the 15th Split Bike Ride, a traditional event promoting sustainable urban mobility and cycling as an everyday means of transport.

This year’s edition brings an exciting new feature – for the first time, parts of the route will be temporarily closed to motor vehicles, with certain sections reserved exclusively for cyclists. Participants can look forward to a relaxed, non-competitive ride covering just under 15 kilometres. The ride starts at 4:00 PM at Žnjan, near Palma Beach Club, with registration opening at 3:00 PM.

The Bike Ride is open to all generations. It is not a race, but an opportunity to enjoy a social and active experience while discovering Split from a different perspective. Children under 14 may participate only when accompanied by an adult, while wearing a helmet is mandatory for participants under 16.

The ride finishes in Đardin at around 5:00 PM, where a programme of music, social activities and entertainment awaits, including BMX performances, a cycling version of the traditional Sinjska Alka, a free raffle and activities for children.

Participants without their own bicycle can also join by using Nextbike public bicycles, thanks to the cooperation with Split Parking.

For 15 years, the Split Bike Ride has highlighted cycling as a simple, practical and enjoyable way of getting around the city, while promoting safer, healthier and more sustainable urban spaces.
