MULTIMEDIA INSTALLATION BY IVAN MARUŠIĆ KLIF: "FEAR OF EMPTINESS"

At the Meštrović Gallery, on November 17th, starting at 12 PM, the multimedia installation by Ivan Marušić Klif titled "Fear of Emptiness" will be unveiled, in commemoration of the 140th anniversary of Ivan Meštrović's birth celebrated this year. The grand opening program will feature Sandra Grčić Budimir, the director of the Museum of Ivan Meštrović, Zorana Jurić Šabić, the curator of the program, and Ivan Marušić Klif, the author of the multimedia installation.

 
Ivan Marušić Klif is a multimedia artist working in the fields of light, kinetic and video installations, as well as sound, music, and performance. He graduated in 1994 from the School of Audio Engineering in Amsterdam, and his presence in the Croatian media art scene began shortly after. Klif was one of the first artists in Zagreb to develop an interest in programming and the use of computers in shaping audiovisual installations. His work is characterized by constant experimentation with digital and analog technology. From the early days of his artistic career, he has collaborated on projects for independent theater and dance productions and club scenery. He is also active as a musician and music producer. Klif has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe, Asia, and the USA. He is the recipient of the 26th edition of the Youth Salon award (2001), the Audience Award at the T-HTaward@msu.hr exhibition (2007 and 2012), the "Vladimir Nazor" award for the site-specific installation Lambda (2012), and the "Excellence in Performance Design" recognition at the 14th Prague Quadrennial (2019). Along with Derek Holzer, he is the co-founder of the Vector Hack festival. He lives and works in Zagreb. Ivan Marušić Klif collaborated with the Museums of Ivan Meštrović in 2018 on the exhibition "Meštrović's Mark in Zagreb – Architecture: 80 Years of Meštrović Pavilion," and this is his first installation at the Meštrović Gallery in Split.
