The opening of the retrospective exhibition of Macedonian artist Jansen Čapar titled “Labyrinth of Time” will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Emanuel Vidović Gallery (Split City Museum).

This exhibition offers a rare insight into nearly half a century of artistic creation by an artist who lives and works in Germany, and whose work represents a fascinating synthesis of European modernism and deep Byzantine tradition. Čapar’s oeuvre—from alchemical processes and icon-painting techniques to experimental media—explores themes of transience and spiritual quest, making him one of the most authentic figures on the contemporary art scene.
