AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL CONCERT – IN HONOR OF TIJARDOVIĆ

Concert Dedicated to the Works of the Great Croatian Composer Ivo Tijardović. The association Trogir Musicians, in cooperation with the University of Split and the University Gallery, is organizing a concert titled Autobiographical – In Honor of Tijardović, to be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at the University Gallery Split.

 

The concert is conceived as a musical homage to one of the most important composers of Dalmatian and Croatian musical heritage. The audience will enjoy a selection of the most beautiful arias, duets, and instrumental pieces from Tijardović’s operettas Mala Floramye, Splitski akvarel (Split Watercolor), Kraljica lopte (The Queen of the Ball), as well as from his stage music for Ribarske svađe (Fishermen’s Quarrels).

The audience will have the opportunity to hear unforgettable pieces such as “Vi ćete meni šaptat – I Love You”, “Daleko m’e moj Split”, “O kućo mala”, “Ta divna splitska noć”, and instrumental miniatures that revive the spirit of early 20th-century Split – the city Tijardović made famous through his music and humor.

 

Through the interpretations of outstanding musicians, the concert Autobiographical – In Honor of Tijardović represents a blend of tradition, emotion, and artistic inspiration, through which Trogir Musicians and the University of Split preserve and promote the musical heritage of Dalmatia.

  • Jakov Gotovac: “Kolo” from the opera Ero s onoga svijeta (Ero the Joker). Performed by: Bozzotti String Quartet
  • “To n’enji knedla, a palačinka” from the operetta Kraljica lopte. Performed by: Maja Andrijolić (soprano) and Vlatko Belas (baritone)
  • “London, Bruxelles, Paris, Marseilles” from the operetta Mala Floramye. Performed by: Vlatko Belas (baritone)
  • “Daleko m’e moj Split” from the operetta Mala Floramye. Performed by: Maja Andrijolić (soprano)
  • “Smiljanićko, smiljanićko” – from the stage music for Goldoni’s Fishermen’s Quarrels. Performed by: Bozzotti String Quartet
