EXHIBITION BY ANA ORLIĆ: "MYOPIA"

EXHIBITION BY ANA ORLIĆ: "MYOPIA"

Location: Culture HUB Croatia – Prostor (Plančićeva 2)

Date: 13 November - 2 December, 2026, exhibition opening at 7 PM

"Prompted by a recent family experience, Ana Orlić has created a series of photographs as a way of confronting the possibility of significant vision loss. In the series Myopia (Miopija), the artist presents photographs in various formats - intuitively captured within her immediate environment - through which she explores the duality of sight and the central role of the eye as a barrier between the external and internal worlds. The visible realm is addressed through a more direct approach - such as an image of a lens resting in a palm or a blurred self-portrait - while the boundary between the visible and the invisible is underscored by recurring scenes of interiors and exteriors, viewed 'from within' through the barrier of a glass lens. The impression of impaired vision is further developed through motifs whose textures emphasize tactility, creating a space imbued with a sense of 'visual touch'." - Sara Mikelić, from the foreword
