PNEUMATIKA PRESENTS: ADDISON GROOVE

PNEUMATIKA PRESENTS: ADDISON GROOVE

Location: Klub Kocka, Youth center Split (Ulica slobode 28)

Time: April 24, 2026, 11:00 PM

After seven years as a club night dedicated to sound system culture and UK bass music, Pneumatika has joined forces with Mavena, a Split-based cultural organization behind a decade of the ISPOD BINE sound art festival, to launch a year round program.

PNEUMATIKA 2026 is a year-long curated program of international club events, free educational workshops, and discursive formats: all focused on UK bass music and sound system culture as a serious artistic practice.

he program’s founder and artistic director is Antonia Topić (Mokosh), production from this year onward is handled by Mavena — 36 of her creations — in partnership with the Coalition of Youth Associations (KUM), and the venue remains, as always, Klub Kocka. The program runs throughout 2026, featuring further international guests and free production workshops in the fall.

The first edition brings one of the original architects of the UK bass continuum, straight from Bristol: Addison Groove. Tony Williams has been working at the intersection of UK bass traditions since 2006 — first as Headhunter during the formative years of dubstep on Tempa, and then from 2010 as Addison Groove, when his debut on Loefah's Swamp 81 introduced Chicago juke and footwork to British dance floors. As The Quietus notes, Williams played a key role in building that bridge — a connection cemented by his direct collaboration with DJ Rashad on Double Cup (Hyperdub, 2013), an album that defined footwork for a global audience.

About the event: Prevara Sound System — a custom-built sound system by Fatureta from Zadar, designed for low-frequency precision and nothing else — is not just supporting infrastructure. It is an instrument. This Pneumatika night is built around it. For Addison Groove’s set, it is not a context. It is a condition.

Opening: Mokosh (Antonia) — founder of Pneumatika, resident at Klub Kocka. Dubstep, bass, techno, house, broken beat. She constructs the room frequency by frequency, layer by layer.

Closing: Giljo (Karlo) — DJ and producer from the Split area. A journey from trap, through DJ Assault and DJ Rashad, to footwork, acid, jungle, and bass. Instinct honed through obsessive listening.
