SPK Marulianus, in cooperation with HPD Mosor, is organizing a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Marjan ’86 competition – an event that symbolizes the beginning of modern sport climbing in this part of Europe.

The stars of the event are members of the 1980s climbing scene who were active at the time, participated in the organization, or competed in the original event.

Program – Marjan Forest Park:

10:00 AM – Gathering at the popular “corner” (ćoša) at Šantine Stine. Light breakfast and informal socializing with a view of Dalmatian limestone, the sea, and Čiovo

10:30 AM – Welcome speech by the main organizer of Marjan ’86, Ivica Piljić, and registration for the exhibition speed climbing competition “Legends Only” featuring the 1980s climbing scene

11:30 AM – Approximate start of the competition on the route “Right of the Cypress”

From 12:30 PM – Top-rope climbing for passersby and the public at the “corner”

1:00 PM – Approximate start of the competition on the route “Sara”

3:00 PM – End of the gathering, refreshment in the sea at Kašuni, and transition to the afternoon part of the event

Program – Faculty of Economics, Split:

5:00 PM – Start of the event in the ceremonial hall of the Faculty of Economics in Split

• Interactive discussion with the 1980s climbing scene and presentations by the original organizers
• Screening of archival video material from the Marjan ’86 competition
• Awarding of commemorative plaques to participants of Marjan ’86 and to the best performers of the morning speed climbing competition
• Catering and refreshments
