17:30 – Kings of Summer (Vingt Dieux), Louise Courvoisier, 2024, FR, 92'

After the tragic death of his father, eighteen-year-old Totone is suddenly forced to grow up and take care of his younger sister and their struggling family farm in France. He takes on even more responsibility when he enters a cheese-making competition for the best cheese in the western French Alps. Kings of Summer is both a realistic depiction of the hardships faced by French farmers and a touching love story—above all, an ode to cheese.

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section and has received four César Award nominations!

20:00 – Balcony Girls (Les femmes au balcon), Noémie Merlant, 2024, FR, 104'

The directorial debut of renowned French actress Noémie Merlant premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Its protagonists are three young women who, during a heatwave in Marseille, spend the day observing and interfering in the lives of their neighbors from their balcony. This vibrant mix of comedy, thriller, and horror was co-written by Noémie Merlant and Céline Sciamma, who first collaborated on Sciamma’s award-winning film Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

Wednesday, March 26

17:30 – The Dog Trial (Le Procès du Chien), Laetitia Dosch, 2024, Switzerland, 80'

April, a lawyer tired of taking on lost causes, can't resist when Dariuch, yet another seemingly hopeless client, approaches her. His request? To defend his loyal canine companion, Cosmos. Loosely based on a real case, this energetic and original film offers a deeply thought-provoking take on our relationship with animals.

20:00 – Life’s a Bitch (Chiennes Da Vies), Xavier Seron, 2023, Belgium, 88'

To please Cécile, Tom agrees to adopt a chihuahua. Greta is devastated—her assistant and her dog have both died. Franck and Lola fall in love at first sight. But Lola doesn’t like dogs.  Three canine stories that, in reality, depict human beings—their loneliness and their constant need for love.
