The 2025 SMALL SCHOOL OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE opens with the performance "Meeting with Oneself" by the artistic organization Irida. The performance is scheduled for April 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the Amphitheater of the Youth House in Split. A supporting exhibition will be at the Gallery at the entrance to the Amphitheater and can be viewed immediately before and after the performance.

The artistic organization "Irida" was founded in 2019, based in Sv. Filip i Jakov. The organization's members focus on creating their own artistic expression through the production of dance performances, as well as collaborations with other domestic and international artists using an interdisciplinary approach in the fields of dance, film, and music. Irida aims to bring dance closer to the local and broader community by entering external, gallery, and theater spaces as venues for performance.

"Meeting with Oneself" (solo) is a contemporary dance performance by authors Anđela Bugarija and Kristina Lisica, accompanied by an exhibition of the photographer Antonio Stipinović. Like subtitles accompanying a film, the exhibition follows the performance, sketching (the necessary) exposure to succeed in the relationship with oneself. Through an interdisciplinary approach to the media of dance, film, and photography, dance artist Kristina Lisica, in a solo performance, explores how to observe, develop, and use one's own resources that enable balance in mental and physical health, which is the foundation of daily functioning for individuals of all ages. When we can no longer find ourselves in our own bodies, from which we would most like to escape, perhaps it's time to return to them.
