Indian Summer to Enjoy

Indian Summer to Enjoy

Friends or tourists I meet in Split often ask me a simple question, what is the best part to visit Split? I must say sorry to all those with school-age kids or have to rush to their classes at schools and universities, or have any other similar "flaw", but answer are September.

It's really simple to explain. Weather allows you to walk around without being soaking sweat. Sea water is still warm enough to swim, no more overcrowded streets, and yet season air lines are still on. We are joking that there should be some holiday declared and celebrated on Split beaches on the first day of school. And it's true. Even the most popular public beaches, let's say Bačvice, are getting emptier these days. Both locals and visitors can enjoy in crystal clear water, and all that on a walking range from the city centre.

Off course, it's not only about the sea. This is a part of the year when you can get so much more from Split. Sightseeing? Sure, just go, without chasing any single shade and fight for some space. Gastronomy? Split is one of the Croatian culinary capitals, and imagine how good it is to seat outside long into the autumn, sipping and eating. Events? Exhibitions are on every corner, theatre season is about to begin, there are museums, sport, etc. Learning the local lifestyle? No problem, just browse streets, squares, markets; there is no better way to experience Split. After all, one of the most often questions I got from my guests while guiding and recommending some venue is as simple as the one from this blog's beginning: "Are locals going there?"

In short, welcome to Split at its best.
