The performance ON(TH(E))LINE explores the concept of the line as a symbol of formation, structure, and the inevitability of social norms. Through dance, the performance depicts an individual’s struggle in confronting their own limitations, inner fears, and insecurities, as well as the path toward liberation and finding personal meaning.

Throughout different stages of the performance, the dancers go through physical and emotional blocks while simultaneously developing awareness of their own boundaries. Through an introspective process, the performance speaks about taking risks, searching for inner freedom, and creating connections between people.

Stepping out of the “line” becomes an act of liberation—a moment in which new possibilities and new forms of existence open up.

Kelkope is a Zagreb-based professional dance ensemble and artistic organization that, since its founding in 1993, has been one of the few ensembles in Croatia cultivating a distinctive modern jazz dance expression.

The ensemble’s main focus is combining high-quality stage art, education of young people, and the creation of unique dance performances.
