In 2026, the Croatian Museum Association will organize the 21st edition of Night of the museums, the largest museum event in Croatia, continuously held since 2005. Initially involving just a few museums in Zagreb, the event has grown over the years to include around 250 museums, galleries, and other heritage institutions from Croatia and abroad.  

Night of the museums  has become an indispensable cultural event, aiming to further recognize museums as dynamic institutions that foster exploration, innovation, and creativity. By promoting heritage and its influence on contemporary trends, the event underscores the importance of museums' interaction with their environment, the creation of new audiences, and the sustainable development of museums and their communities.  

The 21st Night of the museums will take place on January 31, 2026, from 6 PM to 1 AM, across Croatia. During this time, visitors will have the opportunity to explore all participating museums, galleries, and heritage institutions free of charge.
