ANTONIO STIPINOVIĆ EXHIBITION: “What Are You Silent About?”

Location: Photo club Split (Marmontova 5)

Date: September 3–21, 2026

Antonio Stipinović is a photographer whose work is rooted in a conceptual approach to photography. He is a member of Photo club Split, where he regularly exhibits his work and has received awards for his photography. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad, including a collaboration with the Royal Photographic Society in London.

In his work, he explores the boundaries of perception and emotion through intimate portraits, the human body and movement, often in collaboration with dance artists. He views photography as a space where reality can shift slightly and open up new ways of seeing. Alongside photography, graphic design is a natural extension of his creative exploration – a space where image, typography and form come together to create a harmonious whole. With a relaxed and curious approach, he enjoys taking part in projects that combine photography with other forms of art, creating sincere and aesthetically cohesive visual experiences.

The exhibition “What Are You Silent About?” presents a series of ten portraits in which the artist explores the relationship between the body, touch and suppressed emotions. Through close-up shots, unconventional cropping, and a play of movement and light, he transforms familiar facial features, opening up space for a different reading of what lies beneath the surface. The portrait thus ceases to be a fixed representation of a person and becomes a depiction of an inner state – a place where pain and pleasure, vulnerability and surrender, the need for intimacy and the inability to put certain experiences into words come together.
