What happens when thinking turns into too much thinking? When we try to find the right answer, the right movement, the right translation – and end up getting lost somewhere between all the possible options?
In the performance “don’t carry the world upon your shoulders”, Martina Tomić continues its exploration of the practice of translation, this time through the phenomenon of overthinking – excessive, excessive thinking. The research begins with translating the term itself and searching for its most appropriate equivalent in Croatian, and then continues with the search for its movement. The process constantly falls into the trap of overthinking – and attempts to find its way out.
