Time: 13 May 2026, 8:00 PM

SING(in)SPLIT is an international song festival whose aim is to bring together, observe, host, and document various vocal idioms: traditional, classical, and contemporary vocal achievements.

The first evening of the 9th International Song Festival SING(in)SPLIT, i.e. the concert taking place on Wednesday, 13 May, will open the festival.

At this year’s concert, under the direction of Assistant Professor Dr. Art. Sara Dodig Baučić, the Mixed Choir of the Art Academy will present a repertoire that includes two premiere performances: “Ave Maria” by composition student Nina Bakić from the Department of Music Theory and Composition, under the mentorship of Full Professor of Art Ivan Božičević, and the world premiere of “Tales of the Pilgrimage” by Dutch composer Rieteke Hölscher, created as part of an international cultural collaboration. In addition to the choir, guest performers at the concert are students of the Department of Music Theory and Composition of the Art Academy, flutist Doroteja Hegeduš and violinist Dorotea Rukavina. They will perform a duet by C. G. Lidarti, with the musical programme prepared under the mentorship of Full Professor of Art Ana Domačić Krstulović.

The entire event continues the steady growth of the festival, which to date has gathered more than 1,000 participants from as many as 20 countries, enriching Split’s cultural offering with vocal excellence.

We warmly invite you to honour this festival and its opening evening with your presence and to join us on Wednesday, 13 May at 8:00 PM in Diocletian’s Cellars.

The organizers of this year’s spring edition are Schola Cantorum Split and the Arts Academy in Split, with the City of Split and the Split City Museum as partners.
