SlatCroFest – Festival of Croatian Sweets and Confectionery

Slatkopedija proudly presents its biggest project to date – SlatCroFest by Slatkopedija!
From May 1 to 4, the heart of Split will host the first festival dedicated to Croatian sweets and confectionery. This unique event will bring together dessert lovers, tourists, and locals, offering them the opportunity to discover the richness of Croatia’s sweet heritage.
The official festival opening is on Thursday, May 1, 2025, starting at 12:00 (noon) in the Cellars/Substructures of Diocletian’s Palace.
SlatCroFest by Slatkopedija will be divided into four key sections:
Marketplace – Around 20 exhibitors of sweets and confectionery will be located in the Diocletian’s Palace Cellars, a space connecting the Riva and Peristyle.
Exhibition – A guest exhibition What Do Licitar Makers Do?, presented by the Karlovac City Museums, in the atrium of the Museum of Fine Arts (exhibition opening on May 2nd)
Conference – A professional conference in the Old city Hall, covering topics such as the protection of Croatian sweets, their placement on domestic and international markets, and the significance of awards and recognitions. Tickets are available at: https://www.entrio.hr
Workshops – Dessert-making workshops at multiple locations in Split’s city center, open to both professionals and dessert enthusiasts.
The conference will also feature Francesco Redi, founder and main organizer of the Tiramisu World Cup, who will share his experience and insights on branding tiramisu as a national symbol.
The festival is supported by the City of Split, Split-Dalmatia County, and the Split Tourist Board, with the Split City Museum and Karlovac city museums as the festival’s co-organizer.
The festival is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
