Perun Hill is the backbone of the Žrnovnica-Podstrana area, visually dominating the entire landscape. It serves as a gentle hinterland for Podstrana and a powerful shield against the sea for Žrnovnica.

Thanks to a network of educational hiking trails and promenades along the Žrnovnica River, the coast, the foothills, both slopes of the hill, and its ridge, Perun has become a welcoming and accessible destination for visitors of all ages and interests. The trails are thematically linked, uniformly marked, and equipped with resting areas, informational boards, and viewpoints. They encompass points of interest and sites that have historically, culturally, and aesthetically defined the hill and its surroundings.

These include prehistoric fortresses and ritual mounds, pre-Christian sanctuaries, walls and remains of Roman villas and roads, medieval churches and necropolises, and intriguing botanical and geological features. These contrasts create a unique landscape, blending with the idyllic atmosphere of olive groves and orchards. Perun also offers fantastic panoramic views in all four directions.

The focal point is undoubtedly the peak of Perunsko, an ancient Croatian sanctuary, one of Europe's best-preserved Old Slavic sacred sites. Although the physical sanctuary no longer exists, the divine views and atmosphere remain. But, one must ascend...

Perun Trails includes 6 thematically connected tracks located in the area of the city of Split and the municipality of Podstrana:

1. Track to St. George - city of Split

2. Track from Strožanac to St. George at Perunsko - municipality of Podstrana
