Location: KBC Split – Firule Hospital Courtyard (by the fountain)

Date and time: 31 October 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

The artistic and horticultural project “Shade” by Saša Šimpraga will take place on Saturday, 31 October, in the courtyard of KBC Split – Firule Hospital, by the fountain. As part of the project, hackberry and plane trees will be planted to provide natural shade and enhance the green spaces within the hospital grounds.

The project aims to transform the hospital courtyard into a garden-like environment and highlight the importance of hospital parks as spaces for patients, staff and visitors to relax, spend time outdoors and take walks. The planting of trees will improve the area’s environmental and climatic qualities while creating a more pleasant setting that brings together health, nature and art.

The project is part of the programme of the Zoja Dumengjić Gallery, a joint initiative of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists – Split (HULU–Split) and Split Clinical Hospital Centre, which integrates contemporary artistic practices into the everyday life of a healthcare institution.
