STATEHOOD DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA AND CROATIAN VETERANS DAY OF THE CITY OF SPLIT

  

The City of Split will mark the Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Veterans Day of the City of Split with a special two-day programme of commemorative, cultural, and ceremonial events on 29 and 30 May 2026.

 

The programme begins on Friday, May 29, with wreath-laying ceremonies at several locations across the city, including the Lovrinac City Cemetery, Veterans’ Park and People’s Square (Pjaca). In the evening, a Holy Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, followed by a concert featuring soloists, choir and orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre Split at Gajo Bulat Square.

 

The Saturday programme, May 30, offers activities for citizens and visitors alike, including public tours of Croatian Coast Guard vessels at the West Coast waterfront, a promenade concert by the brass band HGD “Stjepan Radić” accompanied by the Split Majorettes, and an evening fireworks display from St. Nicholas Pier.
