EXHIBITION OF THE ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM IN ĐARDIN:"When People Become Better"

EXHIBITION OF THE ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM IN ĐARDIN:"When People Become Better"

Location: Strossmayer Park (Đardin)

Date: 29 November 2025 – 7 January 2026

Ahead of the first Sunday of Advent, an exhibition by the Ethnographic Museum Split titled "When People Become Better. On Christmas Traditions of Split and Dalmatia" opened in Split’s Đardin. Visitors to one of the most beautiful locations in the city at this time of year can discover fascinating stories about how previous generations celebrated the days of Advent, Christmas and the period leading up to the Feast of the Epiphany, as well as recognize some of the holiday traditions that, in various forms, have been preserved to this day. The exhibition was prepared by museum advisors Maja Alujević, Sanja Ivančić, Ida Jakšić, Vedrana Premuž Đipalo and Ivana Vuković, with exhibition collaborator Damir Šarac.

The director of the Ethnographic Museum Split, Vedrana Premuž-Đipalo, emphasized:

“This exhibition presents a glimpse into the past and opens a space for understanding the everyday life of our ancestors — their beliefs, customs, family life, and ultimately their sense of togetherness. In these traditions we recognize values that remain important today: solidarity, belonging to the community, respect for nature and for people. I invite you to pause as you visit this exhibition, to recall and recognize a part of your own story, but also perhaps to discover something new about the place in which we live.”
