This year’s Platformat is being held for the first time during the summer, but it continues to bring together organizations that work year-round in the space of Dom mladih, shaping its cultural and program identity.

The Festival of Independent Culture Platformat has been taking place since 2013. This year we are also celebrating ten years of Platforma Doma mladih – an alliance of associations that acts as an advocacy platform for the independent cultural scene and youth sector in Split, focusing on developing Dom mladih as a socio-cultural center through a civil-public partnership model.

Although last year’s Platformat 2024 was organized with the uncertainty of the building's renovation in mind, concrete work has still not begun. We continue to operate in a state of temporary stability, aware that the space as we know it will soon be closed for a longer period. This year’s visual design by Segor Garber and Dejan Zobenica refers precisely to that moment of transition – it is inspired by the orange mesh typically used to fence off construction sites, serving as a symbol of impending and necessary change.

We look forward to the renovation, which should provide better working conditions for all the associations and organizations that make up Dom mladih. We will continue to highlight the need for this with each upcoming edition of Platformat. In this context, Platformat 2025 offers five days of interdisciplinary, artistic, educational, and entertaining programs, produced by the organizations that shape Dom mladih daily as a key space for independent culture in Split!
