Opening of the Žnjan Plateau – A Summer Celebration of Art, Dance and Music

On Saturday, June 21st, 2025, the City of Split will mark the official opening of the newly redeveloped Žnjan Plateau – a vibrant new public space for leisure, recreation, and cultural events. The evening program begins at 9:00 PM and is designed as an artistic walk-through, featuring a series of site-specific performances and installations created by local artists.

The celebration includes contemporary dance, classical ballet, live music performances, and a specially composed song honoring the historic 1998 visit of Pope John Paul II. The program will be hosted by Iva Šulentić and Tarik Filipović, with the evening culminating with a concert by Ante Gelo and 17 guest performers in the newly constructed amphitheater.

Everyone is welcome to attend this special event, which marks the beginning of Žnjan’s new role as a year-round social and cultural gathering place for all generations.

Free public transport will be available for visitors:

• Departures every 30 minutes from in front of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK Split), from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM
• Departures every 15 minutes from the Lovrinac parking area, where visitors can leave their cars and continue to Žnjan by shuttle
