The MKC music program Novi šum 2025 brings a fresh wave of alternative and electronic music to the city’s cultural scene.  Designed as a series of concerts and workshops, this program aims to connect a new generation of artists and audiences through innovative, experimental, and unconventional music.  

Throughout the season, Novi šum will showcase various aspects of the contemporary alternative scene, from ambient and bass music to spoken dub manifestos and progressive electronics. The program’s mission is to create lasting cultural value through concerts, workshops, and collaborations with guest artists, providing space for exploration and dialogue on the future of sound. In addition to concerts, each artist will hold a workshop for young musicians and enthusiasts. Workshop topics will include performance techniques, working with electronic instruments, music production, and songwriting.

February 14 – BETON KINO – 21:00 – Concert  

Cura i dečko is an eclectic music-and-life duo active on the local and regional music scene for the past eight years, consisting of Vanesa Petrac and Ivan Marojević. They are an unconventional musical act that plays with the concert format, acting as scene outlaws and audience favorites. Their idiosyncratic fusion of synth-pop and neo-rave takes club atmospheres to new dimensions. Currently, they are preparing their first full-length album in the studio. Their electro-pop and neo-rave performances combine analog and digital elements, hip-hop, and soundscapes, transforming them into a full-fledged show.  

February 15 – RAZRED – Workshop  

They embrace a dawless approach (electronic music without a laptop) and will present their working principles with electronic instruments and live performance. Workshop topics include:  This is not a DJ setup – dawless and hands-on approach to electronic music; Dawless – when electronic music is played without a laptop; Dawless setup as a band – shaping a collective sound; Dawless god mode – composing and performing with a band-like setup; Electronic music without a laptop – composition and performance using an electronic setup.

Tonota is an innovative producer blending ambient electronics, hip-hop, and pop, with extensive experience collaborating on both regional and international scenes.  

March 1 – RAZRED – Workshop

Toni Starešinić is the creative force behind the bands Chui and Mangroove, an award-winning composer and producer.

Kali Kamo is an explosive spoken dub manifesto that uses improvisation and experimental rhythms to make audiences both dance and think.

Manja Ristić is a violinist, sound artist, and researcher experimenting with electroacoustic music and environmental soundscapes.
