The Nutcracker is a Christmas fairy tale told through ballet choreography by one of the most renowned choreographers, ballet masters, and recipients of numerous awards and international recognition – Valery Petrovich Kovtun. Ukrainian Classical Ballet, a ballet troupe whose soloists are distinguished artists of Ukraine and holders of numerous ballet awards and recognitions, has given a more modern twist to Kovtun's traditional choreography. Through the story of a girl named Marie who discovers an extraordinary gift under the Christmas tree and embarks on magical adventures in the world of imagination, the audience is immersed in a fairy-tale world accompanied by the enchanting music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
