About the Exhibition: The idea behind the cycle of exhibitions titled "Treasure from the Split Vault" emerged from the desire to introduce the public to the little-known artistic heritage preserved in the private spaces of Split's residents. Many private collections hold true artistic treasures, and their recognition and preservation are of local as well as national significance. Familiarizing oneself with private collections holds not only artistic but also cultural and historical importance, as it reveals the tastes of inpiduals and the environment in which they reside.

The first exhibition in the cycle of private collections from the area of Split City showcases the collection of Dr. Mladen Jukić. His collection highlights his inclination towards works of Mediterranean expression, ranging from Emanuel Vidović and Jerolim Miše to Ante Kaštelančić, Ljubo Ivančić, Edo Murtić, painters from the Dubrovnik circle like Ivo Dulčić, Antun Masle, and Đuro Pulitika, all the way to Split painters Jakov Pavić, Mile Skračić, Matko Trebotić, and Petar Jakelić.

In addition to works by the mentioned Mediterranean artists, the collection stands out with its number and quality of paintings by Ivo Šebalj and Đuro Seder. Apart from pieces by renowned 20th-century painters, the collection also comprises works by eminent sculptors such as Ksenija Kantoci, Ivan Kožarić, Matko Mijić, and Kažimir Hraste.
