EXHIBITION: NOTRE TERRE

EXHIBITION: NOTRE TERRE

Opening: Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 07:00 p.m.

Prokultura - The House of Language and Culture Peristil powered by OTP, in the Month of Francophonie, will host the Belgian sculptor and visual artist Marcelle Godefroid, who has been living in Split since 2018. She was born into an artistic family, and Marcelle turned to sculpture and painting at a very young age. In Paris, she studied at the Dupérré School of Applied Arts and made traditional Commedia Dell'Arte masks. She graduated from the Brevet des Métiers d’Art, area and volume option.

In her free and spiritual path of research, the artist transcends the earth and shapes mysterious messages in clay. Conceived breathless like a vital breath, her sculptures are those messages that stem from observing the great mysteries of life. A sensitive interpreter, Marcelle offers her vision, her sense of the time we are going through many of the symbols left to us by Great History.

In this new exhibition, “Our Country” / "Notre Terre", Marcelle invites you to look at the alchemical dimension of our world. Through this series of sculptures in bas-relief, the author emphasizes the subtle energies that govern our world, those that are seen and those invisible that are felt. Puzzles are a form of work and research that Marcelle has loved for many years. Here, too, she favors this form, which well represents the diversity of living beings, but also the way of fragmentation by which Man acts on nature.

Admission is free, and the exhibition is open until March 31, 2022.
