Location: Photo Club Split (Marmontova 5, 21000 Split)
On Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 07:00 p.m., the exhibition "Four Corners of Existence" by Nikola Mišel Puklin will open in the Photo Gallery of the Photo Club Split.
The "Four Corners of Existence" project began as an experiment in the summer of 2019 and today includes over 170 works. Contemplating the relativity of time, moments, and human lives, Puklin captures ordinary, everyday life moments in his photographs, then recreating them into photographic-graphic collages. As the author himself points out: From day to day, we live our lives seldom stopping. New spaces, people, and relationships in everyday life after a short time are no longer fascinating, and we don't even notice them anymore. After seeing the sunset a few thousand times, it rarely impresses us. However, what happens if we capture ordinary spaces and ordinary people in a moment that is quite ordinary and then make the picture of that moment unusual? By abstracting, symmetry, intertwining lines and surfaces, a new, again engaging and memorable, image of everyday life is created, which is on the line between reality and something completely different.
The exhibition takes place with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Split, and the Split-Dalmatia County.
You can see it until May 20 during the Gallery working hours:
