ST. JEROME ART COLONY 2023

The Split-Dalmatia County, with a rich program, is celebrating its day, the 30th anniversary of its founding, and the feast day of its patron saint, St. Jerome. The University of Split and the University Gallery are one of the co-organizers of the event program.
The celebration begins on Friday, September 22, at 11 a.m. in front of the church of St. Jerome on Marjan Hill, where the "St. Jerome" art colony will be open. A total of 24 artists, painters, and sculptors have confirmed their participation and will present their artistic interpretations of this saint.
These are eminent authors established on the Croatian art scene and beyond, spanning multiple generations. Artists such as Goran Balić, Duje Botteri, Nikola Džaja, Kažimir Hraste, Petar Jakelić, Kuzma Kovačić, Đani Martinić, Duje Matetić, Matko Mijić, Dijana Iva Sesartić, Ana Marija Botteri, Josip Botteri Dini, Željko Bubalo, Alma Čače, Vladimir Davidenko, Lili Gluić, Karin Grenc, Ivan Listeš, Zvonimir Mihanović, Tea Morić Šitum, Hrvoje Marko Peruzović, Vice Tomasović, Marko Gugić, and Frane Šitum will create their works inspired by St. Jerome.
The organizers of the colony are the Split-Dalmatia County, the University of Split, and the Parish of the Holy Cross in Veli Varoš.
The works produced during this art colony will be on display starting from Thursday, September 28, as the exhibition will open at 11 a.m. on that day at the University Gallery, representing an artistic space that has become the epicenter of cultural events in the Split art scene.
