The 6th edition of the Peculiar Family Festival is coming!  

From April 9 to 12, various locations in Split will host the 6th edition of the contemporary circus festival Peculiar Family Festival, organized by the ROOM 100 collective.  

Get ready for four days of a rich program—performances by artists from Belgium, Finland, France, Norway, and Germany, 14 performances by artists involved in the European project Hand to Hand, a kids' rave party, and an accompanying industry program. Best of all, the entire program is completely free this year!  

As in previous editions, through its festival program selection and production decisions regarding locations, ROOM 100 aims to localize circus risk and transfer it to philosophical, poetic, and political spaces. This year’s festival is particularly special as the entire program takes place in public spaces across Split, bringing cultural and artistic content to the city’s outer neighborhoods. The festival is dedicated to making arts and culture more accessible, recognizing the diversity of audiences and their needs.

The peculiar family of the festival is coming directly to the people—in their neighborhoods, right under their balconies. This programming approach is also a response to the fact that the festival lacks a suitable theater infrastructure in the city, leading the circus back to the streets.  

From the packed program, we highlight the Damocles performance by the French masters of risk Cirque Inextremiste, the double-bill Lontano & Instante, the fun children's show PLOCK!, followed by a kids’ rave party, and a festival finale featuring French punk with My!Laika and Finnish punk with the band Muovipussi.
