12th Bach Days in Split

Date and Time: November 14, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

 

As part of the 12th Bach Days in Split, a concert by the String Orchestra and soloists from the Arts Academy of the University of Split will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the foyer of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) Split, under the direction of Wladimir Kossjanenko.

 

The concert program will feature four masterpieces from the Baroque period:

  • Concerto for Two Violins and Strings and Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 by Johann Sebastian Bach, along with two compositions by renowned contemporaries of the great composer:
  • Viola Concerto in G major by Georg Philipp Telemann and
  • the Concerto for Two Violins and Strings from L’estro armonico by Antonio Vivaldi.

 

Soloists include students from the Department of String Instruments and Guitar: Josip Veselić – viola (mentor Wladimir Kossjanenko), Dorotea Rukavina and Petra Subašić – violins (mentor Loris Grubišić), Marta Medan, and Viktor Galuf – violins (mentor Evgenia Epshtein). Professors from the Arts Academy will also perform: Zoran Velić – piano, Marko Zupan – flute, and Wladimir Kossjanenko – violin.

 

Admission is free.

 

Bach Days received recognition as a "Remarkable Festival of Europe 2019-2021" by the European Festival Association in Brussels. Since its founding in 2012, over 150 musicians of all generations from 19 countries have performed in the festival’s 30 concerts.
