WINE & WALK FESTIVAL SPLIT UNDERGROUND
Location: The Cellars of Diocletian's Palace
Event Dates: September 27th and 28th, 2024, from 4 PM to 10 PM
After successfully hosting festivals in Rijeka and Zagreb, Split will become the first city in Dalmatia to host the new and exciting Wine & Walk festival, Split Underground.
This event introduces a new concept of urban festivals held underground under the brand name Underground Adria. Unique underground spaces, such as tunnels and cellars, will be transformed for two days into the largest promenade-style urban tavern, where music and entertainment pair well with wine tastings and culinary delights.
On September 27th and 28th, Split and the imperial cellars of Diocletian's Palace will become the largest urban tavern in the country, offering the opportunity to savor imperial wines from Dalmatia, all of Croatia, Herzegovina, and Slovenia.
Organizers announced that the ancient walls and domes of Diocletian's Palace would be illuminated with special lighting effects, creating a unique atmosphere. The event will feature the finest winemakers and delicacy producers, live pairings accompanied by acoustic ambient music typical of Dalmatia, with hits from beloved artists like Oliver, Mišo, Tedi, Doris, and Meri.
On Friday, September 27th, Zorica Andrijašević Donna, recently awarded at the Dalmatian Chanson Festival in Šibenik, will perform the greatest hits. On Saturday, September 28th, Ružica Čović, a standout vocalist from HRT’s The Voice, will take the stage. Over 200 wines and delicacies will be available for visitors to taste and rate, with some lucky participants winning valuable prizes.
Every visitor will receive a complimentary Split Underground wine glass for tastings, a mini catalog to help navigate the offerings and participate in the prize draw, and a bottle of spring water.
There will also be additional events, such as an exhibition on the future of winemaking as envisioned by artificial intelligence, a fun selfie photo corner, and a few surprises.
The festival will be open from 4 PM to 10 PM, and tickets can be purchased in advance through the EVENTIM system at a discounted price of 25 euros (tickets will be 30 euros during festival days).
A new option is available for those who wish to purchase tickets for both days at an even lower price, but only in advance. The number of these tickets is minimal, and the cost for both days is 40 euros.
