The celebration of the Marjan Forest Park Day, the last event within this year's Sudamja, planned for May 14, 2023, by the city company Žnjan d.o.o. due to the bad weather forecast and the impossibility of carrying out the planned rich program, is postponed to Sunday, May 21, 2023. For the same reason, Promet's free bus lines for the transport of citizens on the route HNK - Marjan / Marjan - HNK are postponed until next Sunday.
The program of the event "Sudamja 2023", adopted by this year's Celebration Committee at its last session, includes over thirty events of religious, cultural, entertainment, and sports content.
Events related to Sudamja began on March 25, 2023, with the Tournament o' Balot, which is organized every Saturday in the small port of Spinut and ends on May 14 with Marjan Forest Park's Day and a show race of the rowing legends of Oxford, Cambridge and Split in the City Port. However, most programs will take place from April 28, when the Novena in honor of St. Domnius starts. From that day on, Holy Masses, sermons, and spiritual music concerts will take place daily in the Cathedral of St. Domnius until May 7, when, after the procession from Perstil via Hrvojeva Street to the Riva, a mass celebration will take place on the Riva, led by the apostolic administrator of the Split-Makarska Archdiocese, Želimir Puljić.
Tourist Board of Split organizes performances of cultural artistic societies, musical ensembles, and other various events for all ages. The novelty is that its programs take place in two locations, in addition to the one on Gajo Bulat Square, for the first time in the area in front of Peškarija (Fish Market) in Marmontova street.
The Tourism and Catering School Split (RCK Split), in cooperation with the Tourist Board of Split, as part of the "Sudamja 2023", is organizing the gastronomic event „Svetom Duji u čast, puku grada u slast“ on May 6, 2023, at Prokurative (Republic Square) starting at 11:00 a.m. As part of the gastronomic event „Svetom Duji u čast, puku grada u slast“, the aim of which is to promote deficient occupations in the tourism and hospitality sector for future students and the general public, students of the Tourism and Catering School Split (RCK Split) and partner schools will, in cooperation with renowned chefs and caterers, demonstrate their skills in the preparation of food and drinks in the function of sustainability, nurturing traditional heritage values. For this occasion, young waiter students, under the leadership of cocktail master Jura Vojković, will present the cocktail St. Domnius. The young chef students, mentored by chefs: Hrvoje Zirojević, Stipe Šušnjara, and Ivan Temšić, will prepare gastronomic specialties that were traditionally made during the time of Sudamja. The sweet part will be taken care of by young confectioners mentored by famous confectioner Teo Mamut. Food and drinks made will be free for citizens and visitors. The Dance studio Clique from Split will prepare an appropriate entertainment program during the event.
As part of this year's Sudamja, the city company Žnjan d.o.o. organizes a larger number of events, starting with the program in Marjan Forest Park on the occasion of the International Labor Day, the organization of the traditional Sudamja Fair on May 5, 6 and 7, and this year even three concerts on the big stage on the Riva. Thus, on May 5, Hari Roncevic will perform on the occasion of 30 years of his musical creativity; on May 6, group Magazin and for the feast of St. Domnius on May 7, Neno Belan & Fiumensi will perform. This year there will be fireworks and a traditional raffle with the performance of Mixed klapa group Filip Dević before the start of the drawing of numbers.
Among the classical music concerts of this year's Sudamja, the gala concert of violinist Stefan Milenković at the Concert Hall Hrvatski dom Split deserves special mention. Also, in the Concert Hall Hrvatski dom Split, on May 2, to permanently preserve cultural and artistic amateurism in the city of Split, as part of the program "Spli'ski konfunžjun", seven traditional cultural societies of Split will perform together on stage for the first time.
The author of the visuals of this year's Feast of St. Domnius - Day of the City of Split, which these days will first appear in the form of posters on billboards in the city, is designed by designer Stjepko Rošin.
