Location: Galerija Loggia (Dioklecijanova 7, 21000 Split)
The exhibition Doors of Wax by the Dubrovnik artist Ana Požar Piplica is the fourth exhibition in a series of collaborations this year between HULU Split and the Center for Culture and Lifelong Education Zlatna vrata, which opens on Friday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the Loggia Gallery.
"Ana Požar Piplica's work sometimes puts us in an ungrateful position because all determination and clarity fall into the water. And then the water carries it. Because truly, just as with the capillarity of a wall, the fluidity of its work and the flow of time lead us through backwaters that enter even the smallest pores of an object that then disintegrates. She chooses materials that are in constant transformation (wax, plaster, wool, salt, wood, fabrics). The ability to be solid, yet soft or porous, points to the dimension of time as a fundamental preoccupation of her work, which indicates the cyclicality of the world, which only changes its skin.'' (from the preface)
The exhibition is open until November 12, 2022.
