This year, the Split Film Festival / International New Film Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The film festival will take place from September 16 to 21, in hybrid form, and opens on September 15, in the Karaman cinema, a film by the Split author Bruno Pavić "Zero Landscape", the only film screening in the cinema.
The films in the program are available online at the address ondemand.splitfilmfestival.hr. The program offers film lovers and film professionals, no matter where they are, the opportunity to watch exceptional films, carefully selected from world productions.
Part of the program is free.
The backbone of the festival this year is the International Competition for Features and Short films. There are eight top films from Tunisia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Thailand (two titles), India, Kosovo, and Spain in the Features competition.
There are 33 films from various countries in the international short film competition, including two Croatian short films.
There are 14 feature films, which stand out with a variety of treated topics that haunt the global world, in the accompanying program (Forum, Focus, Frame Extended).
All films in the program are Croatian, and some European and world, premieres.
Croatian film has not been forgotten. In addition to the already mentioned feature film at the opening, there are eight short films by Croatian authors in the Croatian film program. All Croatian films compete for the Ivan Martinac Film Award.
Apart from the recent world and domestic productions, the audience remembers the festival for a series of retrospectives, workshops, lectures, and presentations by leading experts.
