Location: The Cellars of Diocletian's Palace

 
The exhibition Fragments of the Past of the Imperial Palace in Split introduces sculptural and decorative parts of the architecture of the imperial residence of Diocletian.
 
Fragments of the Palace's architectural and decorative elements from archeological excavations and conservation works carried out since the second half of the 20th century at various sites inside and outside its perimeter walls have been deposited inside Cellar halls.
 
The exhibition takes place inside five rectangular halls (cubiculae) - the eastern part of the Cellars of Diocletian's Palace.
 
The organizer of the exhibition is the Split City Museum and its director Branka Brekalo.
 
The author of the exhibition is the curator Vedrana Supan.
 
During this holiday season, from December 22, 2020, to January 5, 2021, the Split City Museum gives visitors free admission to the exhibition and the Cellars of Diocletian's Palace. You can visit it from Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm. It doesn't work on holidays.
Due to the exceptional public interest in the exhibition, the reception at the Cellars of Diocletian's Palace from January 7, 2021, to January 17, 2021, will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every day. During this period, visitors receive a 30% discount on tickets to the Cellars of Diocletian's Palace and the exhibition, as well as on the purchase of museum souvenirs and publications in the Cellars and at the Museum reception in Papalićeva 1 street.
The Cellars of Diocletian's Palace for visitors from January 23, 2021, work according to the following schedule: - Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is possible to enter the space half an hour before the end of working hours. All receptions of the Split City Museum are closed on public holidays.
 
Visiting must follow the recommendations of the National Civil Protection Committee and the Croatian Health Department.
