From September 21 to October 20, 2024, Split will host the Split Sailing Festival 2024, a unique event that brings together the most prestigious and popular regattas in the Split and Dalmatia region.

This year's festival holds special significance as it marks the 100th anniversary of organized sailing in Split and Dalmatia, with a particular focus on the centennial of the Labud Sailing Club.

The central event of this year's festival will be the 93rd Mrduja Regatta, one of the most important and longest-running sailing events in the Adriatic, taking place on October 5, 2024. The regatta will be accompanied by a full day of entertainment, prizes, and competitions, including brass band performances, sea-side snacks, a concert by Promaya (Split’s current musical sensation known for their energy and unique style), and finally the Kazetofon Party hosted by DJ Vangel.

The Split Sailing Festival kicks off on September 21 with the Bobovišće Labud Classic regatta and culminates with the 80th Vis Regatta, the most significant regatta on the Croatian side of the Adriatic, marking the highlight of the Croatian sailing calendar.

Regattas schedule:

•  The 26th Labud Classic (September 21 - 22), a regatta for classic yachts, will sail on the route Split – Bobovišća – Split, featuring two classes of eligible boats: Classic, cruisers over 40 years old, made exclusively of wood, with lengths between 7.7 and 15 meters, Vintage, cruisers over 30 years old, made of fiberglass, steel, aluminum, plywood, or wood (in cases where the hull was built using diagonal or stitch&glue methods), with lengths between 6 and 12 meters.
   
• The 24th Small Mrduja Memorial Boris Vujnović (September 27 - 29) - Mrduja Optimist Cup is one of the most significant and well-attended regattas for young sailors in the Optimist class, gathering around 100 Optimist sailors aged 8 to 15 each year.
   
• The 93rd Mrduja Regatta (October 5th) is the oldest and largest regatta on the Croatian Adriatic and one of the oldest in Europe, bringing together around 200 boats and 1,500 sailors annually on the route from Split to Mrduja and back.
   
• The 80th Vis Regatta (October 18 - 20) is the most prestigious cruising sailing spectacle on the Croatian Adriatic and one of the oldest in Europe, with 150 boats and more than 1,000 sailors gathering every year to sail from Split to Vis and back.
